This week Lizzie came to visit us at chemo! ;) Unfortunately little man's counts were down to 780, so we had to skip chemo. Saturday Mommy & Bennett went to the movies to see Planes, and then made an unplanned trip to the ER due to ant bites. We stayed at the hospital from Saturday-Tuesday while they gave him meds to get his foot better. Eventful week. :( Only 2 more chemos until we are done! So ready to get him back in school.

Today Gammy, Mommy & Payge took Bennett to his chemo treatment at TCH Main Campus. We arrived at 1:30pm and got checked in. His vitals all came back great and his ANC was up to 1500, so we were able to get chemo! While we waited for his chemo to be delivered, He and Payge decided to have Art time in the art room. ;) Our visit with Dr. Rednam went great...Bennett will be able to start school the first week of August as planned, so we are all excited about that. We will continue with MRI's every 2 months to monitor the tumor...in the mean time Bennett will be enrolled in a pill taking course to open up new chemo options if we need to start that again. Dr. Rednam also mentioned that we may have radiation in the future if the tumor doesn't stop growing....so this may be a possibility as well... I know this is an ever changing future for us, but its all for the well being of our little boy, there isn't ANYTHING we wouldn't do for him to be cancer free. Randy and I have been researching the possibilities of Cannabis Treatment as well...it would mean traveling to Colorado for it, but it may be a last resort option. Will keep everyone posted! ;) -Mommy Nester

July 3, 2014

Today Stephanie's Mom "Barbara" came to chemo with us. Bennett was super excited to see her and when we got to the hospital, he ran in saying "HIIIIIII BARBARA! ;)" We arrived at 8:15am and got checked in....our nurse was Nurse Ashley, who he just loves! Unfortunately his counts went from 2000 last week to 1000 this week....so 1000 point drop. So we will be trying to keep him quarantined until next week to make sure he gets his chemo. We also celebrated the 4th of July this weekend by playing in the pool at home and doing sparklers on the patio.Happy Birthday America! ;)
